Puerto Rico Socata TBM 850 Charter

The Socata TBM 850 gives Puerto Rico more speed and range than the 700, flying San Juan (SJU) and Isla Grande (SIG) with 5 to 6 seats and 1,585 nautical miles of range. It reaches Vieques (VQS, 4,301 feet), Culebra, and the wider Caribbean quickly on a single engine. A faster development of the TBM line.

Daher-Socata introduced the TBM 850 in 2006 with a more powerful engine, cruising near 320 knots at up to 31,000 feet. It carries the same short-field strengths as the 700 with added pace.

Why the Socata TBM 850 Fits Puerto Rico

From Puerto Rico the TBM 850 fits the client who wants single-engine turboprop economy with extra speed: San Juan or Isla Grande out to the island strips, the Dominican Republic, or south Florida. It trims time off the 700’s legs.

For quick, light trips from SJU and SIG, the 850 is the faster of the two TBMs at a modest step in cost.

Vetting Behind Every Trip

Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:

  • FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
  • Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates; reports may be provided on request.
  • Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
  • Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
